SPEAK UP AND AMPLIFY OUR COMMUNITY’S VOICES
In the wake of the violent events against Asian women in Atlanta, Georgia, as well as the rising racism against Asian communities in the USA and Canada, many members of the Asian community are experiencing feelings of sadness, anger, fear, and frustration. The Asian community in what is now known as the Lower Mainland in western Canada is no exception, and the area has a long history of anti-Asian racism. The Connect. Heal. Act (CHA) Forum aims to provide the community a space to share their stories and voices around anti-Asian racism and to build community support.
In the form below, please share what is on your mind about anti-Asian racism. If you’re not sure what to share, here are some example prompting questions:
What do I want my friends/colleagues/professors, etc. to know about my experiences?
What would make me feel safe in my community?
How have you and/or your community found ways to show solidarity and celebrate resilience during this time?
