Elimin8Hate (E8) is the advocacy arm of the Vancouver Asian Film Festival. We work to interrupt, dismantle and eliminate anti-Asian racism at the individual, institutional and systemic level by harnessing the power of arts, film and media. We provide anti-Asian racism learning opportunities, and create safe, inclusive ways for impacted community members and allies to participate in initiatives aimed at supporting systemic change for an equitable society. Educate. Empower. Eliminate.
Want to make an impact in the fight against anti-Asian racism? Elimin8Hate is on the lookout for a volunteer who’s passionate about connecting with others and spreading our message.
You will expand Elimin8Hate’s growing network of community artists (actors, comedians, filmmakers, influencers, radio and TV personalities, YouTubers, animators, visual artists, etc.) and engage and coordinate with them to help spread our message far and wide. You’ll take charge of setting up booths at community events and festivals, engaging with people face-to-face to help spread our message far and wide.
But that’s not all – as part of the Public Engagement team, you’ll also work closely with our Digital Marketing stream, brainstorming new opportunities to promote our campaigns online. You are comfortable with remote work and Google Suite
You are located anywhere in Canada

You pride yourself on knowing what motivates people to get involved in causes they care about.
You have experience creating and implementing successful engagement strategies, both online and offline.
You have strong interpersonal skills and are able to build relationships with individual and corporate donors.
You have intermediate excel skills
You are comfortable with remote work and google suite
You are located anywhere in Canada
⏲️ Time commitment: 5-10 hours a month, and be able to represent Elimin8Hate in person at 1 event a year in your city (Vancouver Only)
📆 Volunteer length: You are available for the next 12 months (we know unexpected events happen so it’s okay if this doesn’t end up being the case)
